The brake pad manufacturer analyzes the composition of the brake pad, and the brake pad looks very simple. A layer of friction material and a layer of iron plate are all we can see. Is that really all? Sometimes what the eyes see is not necessarily all. In fact, the structure of a high-quality brake pad is interconnected layer by layer, and each layer plays an indispensable role. So, what are the raw materials and functions of each layer of structure?
1. Friction material
The friction material must be the central part of the whole brake pad, and its conflict coefficient formula directly affects the braking performance and braking comfort of the conflict pad (no noise and vibration). Now friction materials are mainly divided into three categories according to the formula: semi-metal raw materials, NAO raw materials (asbestos-free organic raw materials) and ceramic raw materials.
2. Insulation layer
In the process of vehicle braking, due to the high-speed conflict between the brake pad and the brake disc, a lot of displacement will be generated instantaneously. If it is directly transferred to the metal backing plate of the brake pad, the brake wheel cylinder will overheat, and in severe cases, the brake fluid may produce gas resistance. Therefore, there is a thermal insulation layer between the friction material and the metal backing plate. The thermal insulation layer needs to have high temperature and high pressure resistance, and useful braking high temperature, so as to maintain a stable braking distance.
3. Adhesive layer
The adhesive layer is used to solidify the friction material and backing plate, so its compensation strength is very important. It is necessary to ensure the reliable connection between the backing plate and the friction material, and provide a tough finished product to ensure the braking effect.
4. Back plate
The function of the back plate is to support the overall structure of the friction material, and transmit the braking force of the brake wheel cylinder, so that the friction material of the brake pad can be combined with the high-energy effect of the brake disc. The backing plate of the brake pad has the following characteristics:

(2) Ensure the safe operation of friction material and brake caliper;
(3) Backboard powder coating technology;
(4) Environmental protection, rust prevention, durable use.
(5) Silencer
A muffler is designed on the back plate to suppress the vibration noise and improve the braking comfort.
