Shandong Huaruifeng Machinery Factory Invests in New Automated Friction Material Production Line, Annual Capacity To Exceed 10 Million Sets

July 24, 2026

Shandong Huaruifeng Machinery Co., Ltd. recently announced a new round of capacity expansion plans, investing in a fully automatic friction material production line that is expected to boost its annual brake pad production capacity to over 10 million sets. This move marks the accelerated transformation of this Qingzhou-based brake pad factory toward smart manufacturing, in response to the growing demand for quality and diversity in the global automotive aftermarket.

Shandong Huaruifeng Machinery Co., Ltd., established in 2011, has long been dedicated to the R&D and manufacturing of automotive brake system components. Located in the Jiangshan Industrial Park of Qingzhou City, the factory covers over 30,000 square meters and has established a complete industrial chain covering friction material formulation R&D, precision casting, CNC machining, surface treatment, and finished product inspection. The new production line will feature internationally advanced automatic batching systems and hot-pressing equipment, enabling full-process automation from powder weighing, mixing, pressing, to post-processing, with single-line production efficiency expected to increase by over 40%.

In terms of global presence, Huaruifeng Machinery's products are now exported to more than 20 countries and regions, including Europe, the Americas, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia, and have successfully entered the OEM supply chains of major domestic manufacturers such as Beiqi Foton, Sinotruk, and BYD. The factory has obtained IATF 16949 automotive quality management system certification and EU ECE-R90 certification, holds over 20 national patent grants, and has been recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise, a Shandong Provincial Specialized and Refined SME, and a Weifang Hidden Champion Enterprise.

Of particular note, in response to the new challenges posed by new energy vehicles to brake systems, Huaruifeng Machinery has increased R&D investment in NAO ceramic-formula brake pads and low-metallic eco-friendly brake pads. The increased braking load caused by battery pack weight gain in NEVs, combined with the alternating operation of regenerative and friction braking, places entirely new demands on brake pad wear mechanisms. By optimizing fiber reinforcement systems and high-temperature-resistant binders, the Huaruifeng R&D team has successfully stabilized the friction coefficient at 0.35-0.40 under high-temperature conditions of up to 600°C, while reducing brake noise issues by 60%, effectively addressing the braking comfort concerns commonly raised by NEV owners.

Industry analysis indicates that the global automotive brake pad market is expected to exceed $16 billion in 2026, with the share of Chinese brake pad exports continuing to rise. As European and American markets impose increasingly strict limits on heavy metal content and dust emissions, brake pad factories with independent R&D capabilities, eco-friendly formulation technologies, and smart manufacturing capabilities will secure a competitive edge in the new round of global competition. Shandong Huaruifeng Machinery's capacity expansion initiative serves as a vivid microcosm of the transformation and upgrading of Chinese brake pad factories from "scale-driven" to "quality-driven" manufacturing.
